Just a quick blurb about me
Who am I?

Welcome to my blog! My name is Dawid (pronounced: David). I was born in Poland and immigrated to the United States when I was three years old. I’ve lived in the United States, predominantly in New York, ever since. I received a Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry at Stony Brook University. During my transitional year between medical school and undergraduate, I worked at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Hospital and at an allergist’s office. Currently, I’m a third-year osteopathic medical student, working through various rotations.
Why a blog?
I think everyone can agree that medical school is tough. Looking back at my first few days as a medical student, I wish I knew some of the things I know now. My goal with this blog is to give students just that – advice about things that I wish I knew, and a perspective into things I wanted to know about. I’ll be writing segments on various preclinical topics such as my tips to surviving anatomy in year 1 and how I approached USMLE/COMLEX studying. I am planning on posting monthly updates about what I’m currently doing on my rotations, what my thoughts of it are, and how I recommend someone could prepare for it. Join me on these steps to becoming a DO.
What’s my biggest piece of advice?

Try to live life. A lot of students fail to take care of themselves and fall into this trap of living life with the mentality of “things will be better once I’m out of here.” The journey in medicine is long, stressful, and time-consuming. Make the most of your situation – explore new things, meet new people, and live life in the present.
